When you interact with this website the server hosting the website needs to know who you are so it can keep track of your interaction .ie the pages you have visited/viewed/interacted/items added to your basket. The way the server does this is through a Session Cookie. This is a memory based unique ID that is sent to your browser to identify your unique connection to the website. Nothing is stored on your hard drive and as soon as you close the browser the Session Cookie is removed.
